Baby Colin has arrived!

Colin Travis Murdock was born on May 20, 2010 at 12:21 p.m. Much to his parents surprise he weighed in at 9 lbs. and was 20 inches long! Being 10 days overdue, he definitely came into the world a little over baked. In comparing baby pictures he looks a lot like me. It is crazy to look at him and see myself. He has Travis' hair. Today when we gave him his first bath you could see the cute natural curls when his hair was wet. His hair is long and already needs to be cut in the back. He likes to sleep and eat a lot right now. When feeding he will often fall asleep and likes to fall over to his side and curl his cute hands up to his face. They make for good photo opportunities. Right now we are concentrating on helping him get over a bit of jaundice. We stayed an extra night in the hospital so that he could get a good dose of photo light therapy. The worst part is that they have to prick his foot and take extensive blood samples to check his bilirubin count. He hates that part. We checked his bilirubin count yesterday and found that it had risen so the hospital sent out a person to deliver a phototherapy blanket that he has to lay on 24 hours a day to get rid of the jaundice. We call him the glow worm because the phototherapy blanket is a blue LED light. Here are some pictures of his first few days of life.

  3. Overbaked is right! That kid is one cute little turkey. I prefer to think of the phototherapy cage as a rotisserie oven. Bake, baby, bake!

    What an adorable Love Burrito!
